In the final days before your event, it might be tempting to take your foot off the gas pedal, sit back, and cruise. After all, you’ve already run the early bird promotions and sold a bunch of regular tickets, so you can’t possibly make a dent in revenue during the last few days, right? Wrong!

Until you are physically driving home from the event, resist hitting cruise control. There are still revenue-generating opportunities, and you don’t want to miss them.

Here are three tips that will help you spike sales at the last minute.

1. Offer Discounted VIP Tickets

If your VIP tickets are slow to sell, run a discount for VIP upgrades. The deal will attract both general admission attendees who are eager to enhance their experience, as well as the ticket purchase procrastinator who wants the VIP status and perks.

At the end of the day, you’ll have more ticket sales, and they’ll leave feeling like royalty.

2. Surprise! Price Drop

Earlier, we shared the benefit of price increases. It turns out that the price drop also has its place.

The key word here is “surprise.” If attendees know a price drop is coming, they will, predictably, hold out purchasing.

Instead, delight your customers with a surprise drop and make it a time-limited deal. Consider a 4 hour flash sale that lets your audience snag an unbelievable deal that occurs in a limited time.

3. Don’t Close the Doors

Inevitably, at every event, there will be some day-of hopefuls. Perhaps a friend convinced them to join, or maybe they woke up with a sudden desire to get in the holiday spirit and attend the annual Gingerbread Bakeoff.

Whatever their reasoning, don’t close the doors on these folks! It’s not over until it’s over.

As long as you still have tickets, there are still ways to increase your sales. Don’t give up. You got this!
